About Me
I hold an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute in London and am regulated and adhere to UKCP ethical guidelines for duty of care and continued professional development. In turn I am regularly, professionally supervised and am fully insured,In clinical work I have worked extensively with grief and loss of loved ones, which also extends to the understanding of how things might have been for you had things been different. By recognising, tolerating and working with those losses in the present new ways of being can emerge.Another clinical specialism I have is working with vicarious trauma which explores the impact on you if you have witnessed or experienced someone else’s suffering, dysfunction or trauma and are having to be ‘strong’ for that person to the extent you feel that you cannot cope or voice your own fears or anxiety.I acknowledge you are your own expert and that we are all humans looking for acceptance and I offer this in a non-judgemental, anti-discriminatory, safe, calm place. As a cultural and diversity aware practitioner I am open to working with all adults and pledge to work collaboratively with professional curiosity. Before my training I worked in fashion and finance and currently alongside my psychotherapy practice I still work in the corporate world so I understand the pressures of the workplace, the interpersonal politics and expectations to be constantly available to your boss or colleagues. Alas the ramifications of being ‘on’ and available takes away time and focus from ourselves and the ability to tune into our needs. On a personal note I am a mother and I have experienced deep loss that contributed to my drive to become a psychotherapist.
